Walking Tour of Amsterdam

We splurged and bought ourselves a "walking" tour. We are only in Amsterdam for a little over 24 hours, so we wanted to make the most of it.

Our guide, Jacqueline, was superb!!! She feed us waffle cookies, and cheese, and took our picture!

She showed us where all the big museums were, and gave us really good tips on how to find our way around in this city that is always moving!

We tried pickled herring......

It was really good with the pickles!

And now Jacqueline wants to come to Alaska to try herring eggs!

There are vending machine chain shops called Febo that literally sells tubes of meat and gravy- fried. I'm not sure what else to call them, but they are deliciously convenient!

And of course frites(fries double fried in oil or lard depending on the country preference)

I don't think we got too lost today, maybe we will try harder tomorrow!
