Have you driven a fjord lately? Day 12

And no, I dont mean a ford truck! ;)

Today in Flam we woke up and decided it would be a fine day for a bicycle ride! But, when we got to the place we had seen the day before that was renting out bikes, it turns out they were already ALL rented out for the day!! Figures that on our last day, everyone else wanted to rent a bike too.....

So instead we decided on a shorter distance a walked a little way up into the Flam valley.

To the old town of Flam to be exact, we visited the old stave church and got honked at by the train and we stopped to "baa" at some critters along our trek. They even "talked" back! Sheep!

Then we went back to the small little town, claimed our luggage and hopped on the ferry to Bergen. The fjords are beautiful and thou similar to southeast Alaska, they are in their own right majestic and so natural!

See the kayakers in the photo above?

Lots of small towns scattered along the fjord, some only accessible by boat. Where the people living there have longer life spans than the norm from the low pollution and the pure drinking water they have available.

I think I could take even more pictures of the fjords! But there are more in the picasa web album link in the upper right hand corner of this blog, check them out!
